Hamid Habib
Managing Director, Arena Media UK
Hamid began his career studying medicine with a view to becoming a psychiatrist. Quickly realising you have to be of sane mind yourself to listen to other people’s problems, he promptly left and set up a nightclub called Plastic People in Shoreditch. After a few years of mischief, Hamid started thinking that perhaps he might be destined to talk nonsense in the world of media, so he went into PR where he worked on PlayStation and launched KitKat Chunky.
From there, he moved client-side to MTV and then Nickelodeon, where he took the channel to the number-one kids’ TV station. After six years’ client-side, he jumped back into agency life at ZenithOptimedia, where his work with clients O2 and Puma won him Cannes Lions, Media Week, Thinkbox Grand Prix’s and Campaign awards.
He subsequently held roles at OMD as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, MD of Starcom and now MD of Arena injecting some fun back into the industry with their mischievous culture + challenger first ethos.
